1,000 Books Before Kindergarten

Take the next steps toward early literacy with the 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten program. Read a book (any book) to your newborn, infant, toddler, or preschooler. The goal is to read 1,000 books before your little one starts Kindergarten. We know you can do it, because if you just read one book a night, you will have read 365 books in a year and over 1,000 in three years (and yes, you can do repeats of favorites!).

To get started, sign up for Beanstack and register for the 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten program. You'll track you child's reading by logging each book online or in the app. For every 100 books read, your child will earn a special button that says how many books they've read so far. Once your child has read all 1,000 books, they will receive a certificate of completion and a special reward. For extra motivation, you child's picture can be added to our 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten wall!

Caregivers will be contacted when buttons are ready for pick up and to collect and confirm photo participation. All rewards must be picked up at the Youth Service Desk at the library. Please reach out to Miss Rachel at brantr@einetwork.net if you have any questions or need help getting started.
