On occasion, staff will take photographs of programs and attendees. Western Allegheny Community Library retains the rights to these photos and may use them for promotional purposes, on the library website, and in social media. If you do not wish to have your picture taken during any program or event, it is your responsibility to inform staff beforehand.
Unattended Child Policy
Western Allegheny Community Library strives to welcome children to use its facilities and services. However, the care, safety, and behavior of children using the library are the responsibility of the parent, guardian, or caregiver. For the safety of our youngest or otherwise vulnerable patrons, the library has instated an Unattended Child & Vulnerable Adult Policy, which you may review below for details.
Internet Use Policy
While you are using Western Allegheny Community Library's wireless access, you agree to be bound by the Computer & Internet Policy below. The Internet connection will be filtered in compliance with the Children's Internet Protection Act. The library's wireless network is an open, public access network. For ease of configuration, the library has chosen not to encrypt the wireless network; you should be aware that information sent wirelessly may be intercepted. Avoid entering sensitive information while using the library's Wi-Fi service, unless the web site you are visiting provides SSL encryption (usually indicated by a lock icon in the address bar or status bar of the browser window).
