VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance) will be at the library to complete Federal and PA state tax forms and PA Property Tax/Rent Rebate for seniors and qualified tax payers earning less than $75,000. This service is free and by appointment only from February 5 to April 9.
IN-PERSON APPOINTMENTS ARE NOW FULL. VITA does have a dropoff service available during their hours on Mondays, Thursdays, and Fridays from 9:30 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. Your required documentation can be dropped off during those hours, and then the volunteers will call when you are able to pick up your completed tax paperwork. The last day for drop-off service is March 23.
Standard Federal tax forms and instructions are available at the library. Other Federal tax forms may be obtained from the IRS website at irs.gov or by calling 800-829-3676. State tax forms are no longer being distributed to libraries; they can be obtained from the PA Department of Revenue at www.revenue.pa.gov or by calling 1-888-PATAXES or 1-717-787-8201.
Tax forms and copies may be printed at the library at a rate of 25¢ per page for black & white, 55¢ for color. Scanning (50¢ per page) and faxing ($1.50 per page) are also available during open hours.
