About the Friends

Friends of the Library

The Friends of the Library is an organization created to help support Western Allegheny Community Library through various fundraising and volunteer efforts. Among other duties, we raise money to help maintain the library’s budget, provide funding for the summer reading program, and volunteer at events throughout the year, including the library's annual fundraiser, "Fall for Your Library." The Friends also help establish and grow community partnerships, operate regular book sales, and manage donated materials. But above all, we are a group of volunteers who love books, understand the vital role WACL plays in the community, and want to promote the library's programs and services. Contact us at waclfriends@gmail.com for more information, or go to our online application to join the Friends today!
